Arriving in Guyana / Arrivée au Guyana

With other volunteers first night in Guyana

First night in Georgetown, Guyana with other volunteers- that’s me, center-back

La version française suit l’anglais

I arrived in Guyana a week ago, and what a week it’s been!

Meeting Cuso volunteers

While waiting for my flight, I met nine other volunteers from across the country who were also headed to Guyana.

Good thing we liked each other, because we’ve all been staying at a local guesthouse, the Rima.

Here, some of the other volunteers and I are settling into the guesthouse and enjoying our first night.

The 14 of us—we’ve grown—are completing a 10-day orientation with the local Cuso office before beginning our placements.

It has been great to get to know everyone, share our stories and experience the first few days in Guyana together.
